All-New FRAM® Wearguard® TRT™ Oil Filter Can Help Reduce Maintenance Costs

Perrysburg, OH, May 6, 2009 — The new FRAM® Wearguard® Time Release Technology (TRT™) oil filter for fleet vehicles is the latest breakthrough from the FRAM® laboratory. The filter - which slows oil degradation in modern diesel engines - was specially designed to help heavy duty fleets extend oil-change intervals and reduce fleet maintenance costs.

New design changes in emission-controls on today's diesel engines have placed greater stress on the oil but the FRAM® Wearguard TRT™ filter features a specially formulated liquid additive that helps maintain oil quality.

"The FRAM® Wearguard TRT™ filter releases a highly concentrated additive into the oil in a controlled manner, which helps combat harmful acids and provides protection against oxidation," said Kenny Cameron, Channel Marketing Manager, FRAM® Filtration. "Because of this technology and following a regular regimen of oil analysis, fleets can maintain or even extend their oil drain intervals."

Mack T-12 dynamometer tests conducted on the FRAM® Wearguard TRT™ filters showed a reduced top-ring and upper-rod-bearing weight loss, which can be directly attributed to the TRT™ filter's ability to retain the oil total base number longer, extending the oil's useful life.

FRAM® Wearguard® TRT™ filters work with Mack ASET, Volvo VED12 and Detroit Diesel Series 60. Filters for the Cummins ISX, ISM and Caterpillar C13, C15 Series will be launching soon.
